About the author

Luís Cabral is W R Berkley Term Professor of Economics at NYU’s Stern School of Business. He was previously on the faculty at the London Business School, Berkeley and Yale. He consults with various public and private organizations.

Cabral’s research focuses on dynamic competition and has been covered on television (e.g., NBC), radio (e.g., BBC) and in the press (e.g., The Wall Street Journal). He is the author of Introduction to Industrial Organization, published by MIT Press and translated into Italian, Chinese, Greek and Russian.

Luís Cabral was born in Lisbon, Portugal, in 1961. He obtained his PhD in economics from Stanford University in 1989. Aside from academics, he spends time painting and playing the saxophone.
